The Kreg Mini Jig is designed without an alignment fence which allows it to be clamped to virtually any angle or orientation to the edge of a workpiece. Doesn't come with a lot of instructions, so be prepared to do some guess and check. In other words, don't use this, for the first time, on that fine mahogany table your making for your wife's birthday. Practice on some scrap pieces first, and you will need at least one clamp. The Kreg website does have a short video showing how to use this, so check that out too.

I bought this mini jig because I wasn't going to spend over $100 for the full Kreg jig kit. In my opinion this is as good as the full kit as long as you don't mind clamping this down for every hole, where the full jig has clamps built in. I figured that for as few holes as I will be drilling overall, it's no big deal. Otherwise the hole is no different, and creates an even tight grip.

I recommend you get the Kreg screws and driver bit set here or at Lowes, because you need an extended length driver bit because of the angle of the cut. They are only a few dollars, and work very well.

I own the larger Kreg pocket hole jig kit, but I bought this one for it's portability and to have a spare drill bit. This kit is small enough to stick in your tool box and use on the jobsite. I have found these jigs to be great for all sorts of joints and make a very strong connection.
