Designed for Versatility and Precision
Thanks to its versatile design, the RA1181 lets you work with a variety of materials while ensuring precision with every cut. With a tall aluminum fence measuring 4-7/8 x 25-1/8 inches (HxL), the table handles tall stock with ease. The fence also features adjustable MDF face plates for better support and smoother operation.

The rigid aluminum router mounting plate stays flat and true for precise, accurate cuts, and for added versatility, it's pre-drilled to fit a variety of routers.

The easy-to-use featherboards attach to the fence and table and are fully adjustable to fit a variety of workpieces. They provide additional support and control while feeding stock across the routing table.

Dust Collection Port and Accessory Slot
The RA1181's powerful dust collection system excels at dust removal. It features one dust collection port for removing dust and debris, and it fits standard-sized 2-1/2-inch vacuum hoses.

Use the accessory slot to add additional featherboards, as well as 3/4-inch optional accessories, such as any miter gauge measuring 3/4 inch x 3/8 inch deep.

The RA1181 Benchtop Router Table measures 27 x 14-1/2 x 18 inches (WxHxD) and weighs 30 pounds. It has a maximum fence opening of 3-3/16 inches and a maximum throat opening of 3-5/8 inches.  "Love everything but the switch" 2010-07-25
By J. K. Mobley (Texas)
I have had this for about a year and its worked out great until now. It seems that what seemed to be delicate off on switch has failed. It cuts its self off every 5 to 20 seconds from the vibration of a 2 1/4 hp router just running under no load. The switch actually moves from on to off. Quite a frustration while routing. I have reported this to Bosch today and I'm anxious to see if this is a wider spread problem or just mine. I always thought the switch was very flimsey but figured Bosch knew what they were doing. I will let you know what Bosch says.

"Best value in a benchtop router table" 2010-04-27
By M. Trunzo (Niagara Falls, NY)
This Bosch router table was for my money, the best value I could find. It's sturdily built and has a great fence system. The fence system can make or break a table like this and this one makes it. The only issue I had was that there was no hole pattern on the mounting plate for my Triton router so I had to drill holes in the plate before I could mount my router. I can't blame Bosch because Triton didn't use a more standard mounting pattern. The mounting plate is actually quite well done and will accomodate most other router mounting patterns. The table has a metal work surface instead of the much cheaper MDF many tables use today and the molded plastic body is very sturdy yet light. It also has its own on/off switch built into the table. You just plug your router in to the table receptacle and the table switch will then control the router's on/off functions. I highly recommend this table to anyone and everyone.

 "EXCELLENT" 2010-04-18
By Tom o'Bedlam (Vermont)
Bosch came out with a newer model with a melamine/particle board top which got poor reviews. I found this model (which got much better reviews) on clearance. Now I see they have discontinued the new one and started making this (better) one again. Thanks, Bosch, for listening to your customers.

I have 3 router tables and use them a lot. This one is my fave. Mortising is a tough job, and this table is the one I use for that. It's also the most precise. The fence has great adjustments, and there are tracks on the fence and table for fingerboards. (get more, I know they take time to set up, but they save time in the end from wasted wood, recuts, and extra finishing) The split fence is great, it makes it easy for dust collection, and they give you a couple of shims so you can use it as a planer. I recently did this on a Corian countertop edge, and saved the day.

"good basic design, a few serious issues" 2010-03-21
By Jerry (New York USA)
I have found the plastic base to be more than adequate as long as it is clamped to the bench in at least 2 places, I know this is a major concern for many people and have not found it to be an issue at all. I also have not had any issues with the switch although plugging in the vacuum and router by feel can be annoying but not a deal breaker as I don't do it too often.

As others have stated the table is a little out of flat, but I also found yesterday that the fence is a little out of true vertically, this became an issue running stock vertically for a dovetail groove.

I have two HUGE pet peeves about this table:

One is the miter slot, it is not a standard 3/4" miter slot, it is oversized enough that any featherboards I have designed to clamp into a miter slot don't work because they don't spread enough to get tight. I measured it at about .86"
The slot is also too large for a miter gauge to be used because it is way too sloppy to be safe or accurate.

The second big issue is the included feather boards and clear guard. The T-track on the top of the fence is set back from the surface of the fence which means you need to use the included spacers to be able to attach anything. These make what would be very good accessories cumbersome and slow to install. This makes it really annoying to go back and forth, you also have to remove the bolts and flip them over to use on the table surface, and they can only be used in a few locations where there are slotted holes in the "miter slot". Despite the pain of installation, the featherboards do function very well once installed.

I understand this is probably the case for any cast table but the lack of a flat edge on the bottom makes it very difficult if not impossible to clamp on auxiliary fences or stop blocks.

Compatibility:
Ridgid R2900- Fits well, I have this router in the table now and I like it.
Freud FT1700- DOES NOT FIT, I got this to replace the Ridgid but it does not fit (and apparently does not fit any standard table)

Overall a decent package, fine for profile routing, but for precise joinery can be difficult to set up accurately.

 "Not Flat" 2010-01-30
By J. Anderson (Birmingham, AL USA)
As other reviewers have mentioned, the top on mine is far from flat. There is more than 1/16 inch valley in the middle - making accurate routing impossible. Unfortunately, i had mine more than a year before i noticed the problem ( i'm just an occasional woodworker), and now i'm stuck with it...
